Oh Nancy, I love old pictures. I "adopted" the cutest family in a picture I found at the antique mall the other day. I just couldn't resist them. That has to be your Mom!! She's beautiful and you look just like her!
Yep, that's my "mamma." I've adopted an ancestor or two from a random flea market.
BTW: I've been reading Jane Eyre of late and noticed that "mamma" is used quite freely to address the female parent. Perhaps that's where it comes from. I'm sure they pronounce it differently from we southren US-ers. Maybe "Mum-ma"?
